Contest Rules and Regulations
The Best Canadian Beef Dishes Contest (for the Restaurant Gateway)
1. CONTEST PERIOD. The Best Canadian Beef Dishes Contest (the " Contest ") is run by Canada Beef (the “ Contest Sponsor ”) as the sole operator and provider of the Contest. The Contest will take place in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec (each a “ Province ”), Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island (the “ Atlantic Region ”, collectively with the Provinces, the “ Eligible Province(s) ”). The Contest will be in English and French only. Contest entries will be accepted from March 10, 2025 (10:00 AM Mountain Time) to November 30, 2025 (11:59 PM Mountain Time), (the “ Contest Period ”). Entries must be received during the Contest Period.
2. ELIGIBILITY. The Contest is open to all individuals who: (a) are legal residents of any of the Eligible Provinces, (b) are located in any of the Eligible Provinces, and (c) have reached the age of majority in their Eligible Province of residence. By entering this Contest, you are signifying your agreement that you have read and agree to be legally bound by these official Contest Rules and Regulations (the “ Rules ”).
3. NON-ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS. Directors, officers, employees and staff of the following: Contest Sponsor, and any of its respective affiliate organizations, subsidiaries, related companies and associations (including provincial and national cattle producer associations), successors, assigns, agents, professional advisors, advertising and promotional agencies, contest judges (“ Contest Judges ”) and immediate families of each and persons living in the same households as such individuals are not eligible to win a Prize.
4. METHODS OF ENTRY.
4.1. Individual Entrants. For Contest entry, visit www.enjoy.cdnbeef.ca then click on the “Make a Nomination Button” to complete the entry form (the “ Entry Form ”). Enter as an individual entrant (“ Individual Entrant(s) ”) by completing and submitting the entry form with (i) your name, Eligible Province of residence, and email address; (ii) the restaurant name, business phone number, and Eligible Province of the restaurant you are nominating for having the best beef dish (the “ Nominated Restaurant ”); and (iii) the name of the beef dish as found on the Nominated Restaurant’s menu, and what makes the dish so special (e.g. the beef, overall flavour, and anything else you think is important). Dishes must contain Canadian beef to be eligible . Entrants may also choose to upload a photo taken by the Entrant of the Nominated Restaurant’s beef dish (the “ Photo ”; together with the Description, the “ Work ”) and click Submit.
4.2 Restaurant Entrants. For Contest entry, visit www.enjoy.cdnbeef.ca then click on the “Make a Nomination Button” to complete the Entry Form. Chefs, Restauranteurs, employees and personnel of a restaurant located in an Eligible Province (“ Restaurant Entrant(s) ” collectively with Individual Entrant(s), the “ Entrants ”) may nominate their restaurant by submitting an email with (i) your name, email address, phone number and Eligible Province of residence; (ii) the restaurant name, business phone number, website, and Eligible Province of the restaurant you are nominating for having the best beef dish (the “ Nominated Restaurant ”); and the (iii) name and description of the beef dish as found on the Nominated Restaurant’s menu, and what makes the dish so special/original (e.g. the beef, overall flavour, and anything else you think is important) (the “ Description ”). Tell us about the beef you used, as well as the non-beef ingredients. Dishes must contain Canadian beef to be eligible. Entrants may also choose to upload a photo taken by the Entrant of the Nominated Restaurant’s beef dish (the “ Photo ”; together with the Description, the “ Work ”) and click Submit. It’s also optional to upload a selfie of you with the beef dish and video that has you describing what makes the dish so special/original, the beef and the non-beef ingredients.
4.3. There is no purchase necessary to enter the Contest. No entries will be accepted by any other means. There is a limit of one (1) entry per individual email address. In the case of multiple entries, only the first eligible entry will be considered.
4.4. Scoring of Nominated Restaurants. All beef dishes made by Nominated Restaurants and submitted by the Entrants, must be made with Canadian beef. Once the Contest Period closes, the Nominated Restaurants’ entry dishes will be sorted and evaluated. The Contest Sponsor will appoint a panel of Contest Judges to evaluate entries based on the Work submitted by each Entrant on set criteria including presentation, uniqueness, quality of the ingredients, and the Nominated Restaurants innovative use of beef in their dish (the “ Evaluation Criteria ”). There will be eight (8) total Nominated Restaurant winners, one (1) per each Province, one (1) from the Atlantic Region, and one (1) Nominated Restaurant with the highest scoring best beef dish will be named the National Nominated Restaurant winner. The decisions of the Contest Judges will be final and binding. Judging is scheduled to be completed on or before the Selection Dates.
5. PRIZES FOR INDIVIDUAL ENTRANTS.
The following prizes (“Prize(s)”) are available for Individual Entrants in the Contest:
5.1. Seven (7) “ Entrant Prizes ” are available to be won by one: (1) Individual Entrant from each Province, and one (1) Individual Entrant from the Atlantic Region. Each Entrant Prize consists of one (1) Visa Gift card with a retail value of $200 Canadian Dollars (“ CAD ”). An Entrant Prize may be won regardless of whether their Nominated Restaurant’s beef dish wins a Prize.
5.2. Seven (7) “ Winning Entrant Prizes ” are available to be won by one (1) Individual Entrant from each Province and one (1) Individual Entrant from the Atlantic Region who submitted a winning Nominated Restaurant. If there are multiple Individual Entrants who submitted the same winning Nominated Restaurant with the best beef dish, their names will all be put into a random draw. Each Winning Entrant Prize consists of one (1) Visa Gift card with a retail value of $200 CAD.
5.3. One (1) “ National Entrant Prize ” is available to be won by one (1) Individual Entrant from any Eligible Province who submitted the National Winning Restaurant Prize winner. The National Entrant Prize consists of one (1) Visa Gift card with a retail value of $1,000 CAD.

6. ODDS OF WINNING/WINNER SELECTION/NOTIFICATION FOR INDIVIDUAL ENTRANTS:
6.1. Odds of Winning. The odds of winning for each Entrant Prize, Winning Entrant Prize and National Entrant Prize will depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period from each Eligible Province and the number of Individual Entrants that submitted each Nominated Restaurant’s winning best beef dish.
6.2. Winner Selection. On December 23, 2025 (the “ Provincial Draw Date ”) in Calgary, Alberta at approximately 12:00 PM Mountain Time (“ MT ”), eligible entries for the provincial Entrant Prizes will be selected by random draw from among all the eligible entries received during the Contest Period by the Contest Judges in accordance with the following draw process: One (1) Individual Entrant will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries received for each Province and one (1) from the Atlantic Region to select seven (7) Entrant Prize winners. On January 28, 2026 (the “ Secondary Draw Date ”) in Calgary, Alberta at approximately 12:00 PM MT: one (1) Individual Entrant who nominated the winning Nominated Restaurant’s best beef dish from each Province and one (1) Individual Entrant from the Atlantic Region will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries received to select seven (7) Winning Entrant Prize winners; and one (1) Individual Entrant who nominated the winner of the National Winning Restaurant Prize will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries received to select the National Entrant Prize winner.
7. PRIZES FOR RESTAURANT ENTRANTS.
The following prizes are available for Restaurant Entrants in the Contest:
7.1. Seven (7) “ Winning Restaurant Prize(s) ” are available to be won by one (1) Nominated Restaurant from each Province and one (1) Nominated Restaurant from the Atlantic Region. Each Winning Restaurant Prize consists of: one (1) Visa Gift card with a retail value of $600 CAD and one (1) unisex belt buckle with an approximate retail value of $400 CAD. The total approximate retail value of each Winning Restaurant Prize is $1,000 CAD.
7.2. One (1) “ National Winning Restaurant Prize ” is available to be won by one (1) Nominated Restaurant. The National Winning Restaurant Prize consists of: one (1) Visa Gift card with a retail value of $4,400CAD and one (1) unisex belt buckle with an approximate retail value of $600 CAD. The total approximate retail value of the National Winning Restaurant Prize is $5,000 CAD.

8. ODDS OF WINNING/WINNER SELECTION/NOTIFICATION FOR NOMINATED RESTAURANTS
8.1. Odds of Winning: The odds of winning the Winning Restaurant Prize and the National Winning Restaurant Prize will depend on the total number of eligible Nominated Restaurants per Eligible Province and the Atlantic Region and the scoring by the Contest Judges based on the Evaluation Criteria.
8.2. Winner Selection. The Contest Judges will evaluate and score the eligible Nominated Restaurants based on the Evaluation Criteria. Judging for the provincial Winning Restaurant Prizes is scheduled to be completed on or before December 19, 2025 and judging for the National Winning Restaurant Prize is scheduled to be completed on or before January 23, 2026, in Calgary, Alberta (the “ Selection Date(s) ”) The Nominated Restaurant receiving the highest score from each of the Provinces and one (1) from the Atlantic Region will be selected to be one of seven (7) Winning Restaurant Prize winners and have the potential to receive the National Winning Restaurant Prize. The Nominated Restaurant with the highest overall score will be the National Winning Restaurant Prize winner.
9. NOTIFICATION. A representative of the Contest Sponsor will attempt to contact each Entrant winner (the “ Winner(s) ”) three (3) business days after the Draw Date or Selection Date (as applicable to the Entrant) to notify each potential Winner. Three (3) attempts to contact each potential Winner will be made (within business hours Mountain Time).
At the end of the Contest Period, any potential Winners selected must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question and complete a declaration and release document to be deemed a Winner. Proof of identification must be provided upon request.
In the event that a potential Winner (a) cannot be contacted within three (3) business days after the Draw Date or Selection Date (as applicable), or if there is a return of a notification as undeliverable; (b) fails to correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question; (c) fails to return the properly executed Contest documents within the specified time; (d) cannot accept (or is unwilling to accept) the Prizes as awarded for any reason; and/or (e) is determined to be in violation of these Rules (all as determined by the Contest Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); then they will be disqualified and an alternate potential Winner will be drawn and/or chosen at the Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion.
10. AWARDING OF PRIZES
10.1. To be declared a Winner , a potential Winner, in addition to meeting the Contest eligibility criteria and otherwise complying with the Rules, must: be reached by email or phone by the Contest Sponsor or its representatives within three (3) business days immediately following the selection of the potential Winner; have correctly answered a mathematical skill-testing question; sign and have witnessed declaration and release documentation and return it to the address indicated in the documentation for it to be received within seven (7) business days following its delivery by the Contest Sponsor or its representatives. The declaration form may be photographed or scanned and returned to the following email: gateway@canadabeef.ca . Unless otherwise set out herein, no communication or correspondence will be exchanged with Entrants or Nominated Restaurants except with those selected as potential Winners.
10.2. Delivery of Prize: Following receipt of the potential Winner’s correctly answered a mathematical skill-testing question, signed declaration and release documentation, the Contest Sponsors will send the Prize to the Winner. Please allow three (3) to four (4) weeks for delivery. Shipped Prizes shall not be insured, and the Contest Sponsor shall not assume any liability for a lost, damaged or misdirected Prize. The Prize must be shipped to a physical addressed location, not just a PO Box. A phone number must be supplied for shipping purposes.
11. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
11.1. Laws. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited by law. The construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Rules or the rights and obligations as between an Entrant and the Sponsor in connection with this Contest will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario.
11.2. Non-Compliant Entries and Disqualification: Contest Sponsor may at any time in its sole discretion disqualify any Entrant or Nominated Restaurant (and the Entrant’s corresponding entry) who: does not meet the eligibility criteria, fails to comply with these Rules, attempts to enter the Contest in any manner or through any means other than as described in the Rules, attempts to disrupt the Contest or attempts to circumvent any of these Rules. Entries will be disqualified if they are late, illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, mutilated, forged, garbled or mechanically or electronically reproduced. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to select at random another eligible Entrant or another Nominated Restaurant based on the Evaluation Criteria as a potential Winner or to cancel any prize. All decisions made by the Contest Sponsor or its representatives, including without limitation those concerning the eligibility or disqualification of Entrants and Nominated Restaurants, are final and binding without a right of appeal.
11.3. Verification. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Contest Sponsor — including, without limitation, government issued photo identification): (i) for the purposes of verifying an Entrant’s eligibility to participate in this Contest; (ii) for the purposes of verifying the eligibility and/or legitimacy of any entry, and/or other information entered (or purportedly entered) for the purposes of this Contest; and/or (iii) for any other reason the Contest Sponsor deems necessary, in its sole and absolute discretion, for the purposes of administering this Contest in accordance with the letter and spirit of these Rules. Failure to provide such proof to the Contest Sponsor within the timeline specified by the Contest Sponsor may result in disqualification in the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of the Contest will be the official time-keeping device(s) used by the Contest Sponsor.
11.4. Sole Responsibility . It is solely the Entrants’ responsibility to ensure that their submissions are properly entered. The Contest Sponsor will not be responsible for any lost, delayed, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, damaged, or undeliverable entries, or any delay or failure to transmit, process, receive or consider entries.
11.5. Visa Gift card and Belt Buckle Prize. Each Visa Gift Card prize and belt buckle prize (collectively, “ Prize(s) ”) values are expressed in CAD. All elements of each Prize are subject to certain restrictions as noted above and are subject to additional terms and conditions as set out by the issuer of the Prize. Each Prize is not transferable or convertible to cash, or refundable, and must be accepted as awarded. In the case of loss, theft, mutilation, alteration or unauthorized use, a Prize will not be reimbursed or replaced. Each Prize cannot be used for purchases of goods and services prohibited by law. No compensation will be provided for failure by a Winner to accept a Prize as awarded. Contest Sponsor gives no representations, warranties, or conditions, whether express or implied, in respect of a Prize.
Where applicable, Prizes will be awarded by the Contest Sponsor based on the mailing address associated with the Winner. Except as expressly stated herein, a Winner is responsible for all applicable taxes, fees, and surcharges, if any, in respect of their Prize and/or the use or redemption thereof.
11.6. Acceptance of Prize: Prize must be accepted as described in these Rules and cannot be returned, transferred to another individual, substituted for another Prize or exchanged in whole or in part for money, except as set out in Rule 11.7.
11.7. Substitution of Prize: The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, and for any reason whatsoever, to substitute for any Prize, or part thereof, another Prize of equivalent or greater value, including, without limitation, a cash award.
11.8. Number of Prizes/Winners: By entering the Contest, each Entrant acknowledges that the Contest Sponsor shall not be required under any circumstances to award more Prizes than the number of available Prizes, as set out in these Rules. In the event that, for any reason whatsoever (including, without limitation, as a result of an error, malfunction or defect in the design, advertising, management, implementation or administration of the Contest, whether mechanical, electronic, human or otherwise) the number of declared Winners or the number of Prizes claimed by Entrants or Nominated Restaurants is greater than the number of Prizes available, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to end the Contest in whole or in part, without notice.
11.9. Other Changes to Rules: Without limiting the provisions above, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Contest, in whole or in part, in the event of any cause or circumstance, including, without limitation, any virus, computer bug or unauthorized human intervention or any other cause that is beyond the control of the Contest Sponsor, that could corrupt or affect the administration, security, impartiality or normal course of the Contest.
11.10. Disclaimers, Release and Limitation Liability: By entering or attempting to enter the Contest, each Entrant and/or purported Entrant agrees: (i) to release, discharge, and forever hold harmless the Contest Sponsor from any and all claims, actions, damages, demands, manner of actions, causes of action, suits, debts, duties, accounts, bonds, covenants, warranties, indemnities, claims over, contracts and liabilities of whatever nature or kind arising out of, or in connection with the Entrant’s participation or attempted participation in the Contest, compliance or non-compliance with these Rules and acceptance and use of the Prize. Any Entrant selected for a Prize acknowledges that upon awarding of the Prize, the obligations typically borne by the provider of services or goods become that provider’s responsibility. The Contest Sponsor will not be responsible for lost, incomplete, late or misdirected entries or for any failure of the Contest website, if applicable, during the Contest Period, or for any technical malfunction or other problems with, any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software or for any technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination of the foregoing, and will not be liable for any injury or damage to any person or property arising from, or relating to, that person’s or any other person’s participation or attempted participation in the Contest.
11.11. Personal Information: Unless the Entrants have otherwise authorized the Contest Sponsor to contact them, the personal information gathered about Entrants in connection with this Contest will be used solely for the administration of the Contest and is subject to the Contest Sponsor’s privacy policy (available at https://canadabeef.ca/privacypolicy/ ) and no communication unrelated to the Contest, commercial or otherwise, will be sent to the Entrant by the Contest Sponsor. By participating in this Contest, Entrants expressly consent to the Contest Sponsor storing, using and disclosing their personal information (they consent on behalf of all individuals whose personal information is included in the entry) for the purposes of administering the Contest; advertising the Contest, and for the other purposes described in these Rules, and in accordance with the Contest Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, as applicable. This section does not limit any other consent(s) that an individual may provide the Contest Sponsor or others in relation to the collection, use and/or disclosure of their personal information. Contest Sponsor may publish the winning beef dishes (including Photo and Description), along with the name and province of the Entrants who submitted the winning beef dish (each a “ best beef dish winner post ”) on Contest Sponsor’s websites, affiliated websites, and online social media platforms. Each Contest Winner consents to the inclusion of Winner’s name, province, and Work, in Contest Sponsor’s best beef dish winner posts. 11.12. Publicity. Except where otherwise prohibited by law, participation in the Contest constitutes an Entrant’s consent to Contest Sponsor use of the Entrant’s name or other likeness for promotional purposes without further notification, permission, payment or consideration, in any manner or medium whatsoever, including print, broadcast or the internet, worldwide and in perpetuity.
11.13. Authorized Account Holder and Identity of the Entrant. For the purposes of these Rules, the Individual Entrant is the person who is the authorized account holder of the email account used to enter the Contest. It is to this individual that a Prize will be awarded if selected and declared as the Winner. For the purpose of the Rules, “authorized account holder” of an e-mail address is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Any Individual Entrant may be required to provide the Contest Sponsor with proof that they are the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with their entry.
11.14. Ownership of Entries. All Work(s) (including all copyright, trademark and other proprietary rights associated therewith) submitted by an Entrant become the property of the Contest Sponsor upon submission, and Works will not be returned to any Entrant. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Entrant acknowledges that the Contest Sponsor will own all rights to use, modify and make derivative works of the Work(s), without separate compensation to the Entrant or any other person or entity.
11.15. Original Work of Authorship. By participating in this Contest, the Entrant warrants and represents that they own all rights to all Works submitted by them; and all such Works are original works of authorship on their part and have not been copied, in whole or in part, from any other work. Each Entrant warrants and represents that the Work: (i) does not contain any material, language or gestures that are libelous, defamatory, indecent, profane, obscene or violent and does not violate any laws including without limitation, relating to hate speech or otherwise; and (ii) the Work does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, proprietary interests or other statutory or common law rights of any third party.
